Manchester City Signs Stevan Jovetic – Confirms Fiorentina

Fiorentina have confirmed the transfer of Stevan Jovetic to Manchester City for feeAi??A?28 million.

Finally the seemingly never ending transfer saga of Stevan Jovetic has reached its conclusion. After been linked with Italian giants Juventus, Arsenal and Manchester City throughout this summer (and at a point it seemed as if the Turin club were the favourite to land him), the cash-rich club from Manchester have managed to snatch him ahead of other suitors.

The 23-year-old forward has been Fiorentinaai??i??s most influential player in the last two seasons. The Montenegrin international scored 13 goals in the league last season. But there is more to Joveticai??i??s game than just goals. He is brilliant at setting up goals for his team mates (provided five assists last season) as well as finishing them, and given his young age, he is only likely to improve with experience. It must also be remembered that the forward missed out the whole of 2010-11 season with an injury and has looked stronger with every passing season.

Manchester City were expected to spend heavily this summer after enduring a disappointing season in Europe and in the Premier League last season. A change in managerial post was expected to be followed by arrival of some big names, and City havenai??i??t disappointed so far. They have already signed Navas, Fernandinho, now Jovetic and area also close to completing their move for Negredo. City have lost Balotelli and Tevez last season and this summer respectively, while the future of Edin Dzeko remains in doubt.
