Jose Mourinho has to buy in the January transfer window to strengthen his squad. Mourinho is believed to be after 20 year old German midfielder Julian Draxler. The Schalke youngster is on Mourinhoai??i??s radar for a January swoop even if Schalke are unwilling to sell him. Draxler recently became the youngest player ever to make 100 competitive appearances for a Bundesliga club and had the opportunity to join bigger clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City last summer, which he turned down to further his football education with Schalke.
However, if Mourinho were to get Draxler to Stamford Bridge, the German would be cup tied for the Champions League, having already represented Schalke. This could be a roadblock in Chelseaai??i??s expected A?25 million bid for the German. The Bundesliga club themselves are not prepared to let Draxler leave at least till next summer:

Draxler may even be surplus to requirements given Chelseaai??i??s number of midfielders in the squad. The Brazilian is admired by Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, who brought in the midfielder to Chelsea when he was manager there. Madrid are believed to make a A?15 million bid for Ramires, which Chelsea are expected to reject in January.
One area Mourinho definitely needs strengthening is the strikers department. So far Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Etoai??i??o have failed to score in the Premier League and Mourinho is likely to look for a striker in January if his current forwards donai??i??t step up. One man on his radar is thought to be Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz. The 28 year old Yilmaz scored eight goals in Galatasaryaai??i??s Champions League campaign last season and Chelsea are reportedly going to offer a cash plus Demba Ba deal to the Turkish giants.
Yilmaz is also thought to be dispensable by the club after he was left out of new manager Roberto Manciniai??i??s first starting line-up, with Didier Drogba the preferred striker at Galatasaray. It looks like the Turkish champions may also let Yilmaz leave:
