Chelsea FC Manager Jose Mourinho has expressed his dislike for international breaks, his admiration for Petr Cech and has also provided update on the team news ahead of their match against Cardiff.
English Premier League is back in action after the long international break and Chelsea resume their league campaign as they welcome Cardiff to Stamford Bridge. The London club have recovered well from the run of poor results at the end of August and June ai??i?? when they failed to win in three games including three defeats on the trot.
Chelsea have some big matches coming up their way in the following weeks with a trip to Schalke, a League matche against Manchester City and a League Cup match against Arsenal. This match against Cardiff is a good opportunity to build up some momentum ahead of those games and Jose Mourinho would hope for better results than what the team managed after the last international break.
‘I didn’t like the period. Four players to train. For the kids it is nice. But from the team perspective it is bad.
You are playing well, you win some matches consecutively, you want to win again but the players disappear. They go to China, they go to Africa, they play important matches for qualification.
‘We lost against Everton and Basle immediately after that period, it always puts some question marks.

Cardiff on the other hand encountered a troublesome international break as Ian Moody, head of recruitment, was replaced by Alisher Apsalyamov. Boardroom struggles is evident at the Welsh club currently. But Jose Mourinho felt that it wonai??i??t have any great effect on the players and their performance on the pitch.
‘I don’t think it’s a problem for the dressing room. They come with good feeling, so for me that’s a story for Mackay and for the owner, not for the boys.’ ai??i?? Mourinho added.
The Chelsea manager was also full of praise for goalkeeper Petr Cech. The veteran goalkeeper will the achieve the milestone of making his 300th league appearance for the club in the match against Cardiff. Mourinho believes that in Petr Cech Chelsea have the best custodian in the world.

‘Petr came here very young but immediately in the first game of the season, Chelsea v Man United, he kept a clean sheet, the first clean sheet of his book full of clean sheets.
‘The guy is amazing, with his working ethic and the way he lives, and he is a very young keeper, 30 years old is very young.
‘I don’t think many people will disagree if I say we have the best goalkeeper in the world and the best young goalkeeper in the world, and if anyone wants to disagree with me it will not be by much.

Chelsea have some injury concerns ahead of this game, and Mourinho hopes that most of his key players will be able to recover from the international trip. Fernando Torres remains doubtful for this fixture after picking up knee ligament strain earlier this month. While Etoai??i??o and Demba Ba are available, Mourinho wants Torres to recover and provide him with a selection headache. The Portuguese manager also disclosed that Ashley Cole is unsure for the trip to Schalke, but he is confident that Ryan Bertrand can step up and fill in his shoes. Schurrle is also unavailable for this game.
‘I want to have problems by having players, I don’t want to have problems by having players injured. I don’t want an easy selection, I want a difficult selection and I have Eto’o and Ba already and we need all three strikers because after two weeks without a game, we now have three competitions at the same time. We need everybody.
‘Cole’s injury is not a dangerous situation but it is very painful and the pain persists,’ the manager told reporters.
‘We will see on Monday if he can train and have the chance of being a choice for the Champions League game against Schalke, but I have my doubts.
