Heung-Min Sonai??i??s agent has revealed that Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in signing the Hamburg youngster.
Son has been one of the key performers for Hamburg this season. The 20-year-old is having his best season so far for the German club and is currently the second highest goal scorer (with nine goals) for Hamburg.
Son joined the German clubai??i??s academy as a 16 year old kid after dropping out of school in Seoul. He made his debut for the national side at the age of 17 and has already racked up twelve appearances for Korea.
This season, Son has shown signs of improvement and is close to fulfilling his potential, although he will improve further with age. Of course, his remarkable progress meant that the big clubs across Europe have started to take notice of him and there are lot of speculations regarding his future at the Imtech Arena next season.
Thies Bliemeister, agent of Son, has revealed that Inter Milan have scouted the 20-year-old this season, while the club has received offers from Manchester United and Chelsea.
“Inter Milan’s emissaries saw a couple of his matches, but so far I have not had any contact with the Italian club’s officials,” he told Interlive.
“A transfer in the next summer? He has signed a new contract with Hamburg SV extending it for one year, but there have been many offers for him as fromAi??Manchester UnitedAi??andAi??Chelsea.” ai??i?? Bliemeister was quoted in press.
Hamburg would want to hold on to their prized asset for one more season at least and prospective buyers might have to loan him back to the German club, who have already lost Petric (to Fulham) and Guerrero (to Corinthians) at the start of this season.
Sonai??i??s strength as a footballer has been his versatility to play across the field in various positions. He has featured both as a striker and as a wide-man for the German club this season and can also play in-behind the frontman. The Korean international is excellent in building up attack and makes intelligent runs in behind the defender.
He has already earned the nickname of ai???Korean Mullerai??i?? from his team mates and German legend Franz Beckenbauer has tipped him to become the next Cha Bum-Kun, the legendary Asian footballer who starred for Bayer Leverkusen.
