Napoli are reportedly interested in Chelsea outcast Marc Guiu as one of their options for a new striker, with the Spaniard carrying a £25 million price tag.
Napoli are reportedly interested in Chelsea’s Marc Guiu as a late-window striker target, according to Sky Sports. Chelsea are prepared to sell the young Spanish striker and are demanding £25 million, while the Italian club continue to assess several other options for the centre-forward position.
Chelsea have several players they want to sell, including Nicolas Jackson and Guiu. The latter joined the club from Barcelona in a deal worth around £5 million in 2024 but has struggled to establish himself in the first-team squad. Guiu has made 29 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, scoring eight goals.
Napoli to pursue Marc Guiu?
Several Spanish clubs have reportedly shown interest in Guiu, including Sevilla. However, Napoli are now ready to explore a possible move.
The Italian club are searching for a new striker following Romelu Lukaku’s move to Fenerbahce during the summer. Napoli are now seeking details of Chelsea’s conditions for selling Guiu, while also attempting to convince the player to move to Italy.
According to Sky Sports’ report, Napoli would need to sanction a departure before signing another forward. Noa Lang has been mentioned as the most likely player to leave.
If Napoli pay the £25 million asking price, they would be gambling on a young striker with limited experience at the highest level, especially if he is expected to replace Lukaku. For now, nothing appears to have been finalised, as Napoli continue to consider several other targets.
Napoli’s striker shortlist
In addition to their interest in Guiu, Napoli are widening their search for a new centre-forward. Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee is reportedly a target, with the Dutchman seemingly open to leaving Old Trafford. Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson is also on Napoli’s shortlist, although Aston Villa are currently pushing to sign the Senegal international.
Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus has also been considered, as per reports, and Napoli could still attempt to sign the Brazilian during the final stages of the transfer window.
Overall, Napoli have several notable names on their shortlist and are expected to bring in at least one striker before the deadline. Guiu remains an appealing option because of his age and potential, but the financial demands and his limited first-team experience could make negotiations difficult.
