Tottenham hopeful of keeping Archie Gray

Tottenham are eager to keep hold of Archie Gray if they survive relegation, amid big interest in the prodigious midfielder.

Tottenham’s relegation story is probably one of the biggest in English football, which could dominate over the summer depending on which players want to leave the club. As per Football Insider, Spurs are hopeful of hanging on to 20-year-old prodigy Archie Gray should they avoid the drop, as the young star continues to attract big interest in the market.

Archie Gray was a big investment made by Tottenham when they signed him from Leeds United in the summer of 2024. The 20-year-old prodigy has been impressive in his two seasons at the club and continues to put in energetic performances even when the team is playing poorly.

There’s a real danger at Tottenham that they could lose a host of their players ahead of the summer if they were to suffer relegation to the Championship. New boss Roberto De Zerbi has reportedly been told to keep hold of stars like Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Lucas Bergvall, but the club are also keen to hold on to Gray.

Tottenham have no plans to sell Gray as such, but their prospect of relegation could see some offers materialise in the background, especially if the 20-year-old prodigy pushes for an exit. Bayern Munich are keen on Gray ahead of the summer, while Liverpool are also interested in investing in the young midfielder.

Bayern Munich have looked at several English talents of late and could push for a move if Tottenham are willing to part ways. Gray could be tempted by the prospect of playing for the Bavarians if a move could be worked out, but Spurs are hopeful of keeping him if they survive in the Premier League.

Are Liverpool the hot contender for Archie Gray?

Liverpool are keen to sign Gray, and could be seen as one of the hot contenders in the race for the 20-year-old Tottenham star. The Reds have angled to strengthen their midfield ranks, and the addition of a young player of the quality of Gray could be the way forward.

Liverpool will be open to investing big in the signature of Gray if he were indeed available, as they will hope Tottenham open the doors to negotiate any potential deal. It remains to be seen how Spurs make plans in the market in the event of relegation, as well as survival, as the futures of players like Gray could be in significant doubt.
