Aston Villa line up €60 million move to sign Alejandro Balde

Aston Villa could be prepared to pay as much as €60 million for Alejandro Balde as they look to compete with some big Premier League teams for his signature.

According to Fichajes, Aston Villa are firming their position in the race for Alejandro Balde, with the Birmingham club reportedly prepared to offer €60 million. Barcelona might consider the prospect of a sale of their wide man, amid growing interest from Premier League teams that also includes Manchester City and Manchester United.

Aston Villa are ready to make significant changes to their team if they end up finishing in the top five and making it to the Champions League. There are obvious financial constraints that will not allow them to make massive additions unless they are able to part ways with some of their existing stars.

Nevertheless, Unai Emery has eyed several key additions, including Barcelona’s Alejandro Balde. The Basque manager is reportedly pushing to sign the left-back in the summer as his future in Catalonia has come under significant doubt.

Aston Villa are reportedly prepared to pay €60 million, which might be more than the €40 million Manchester United were reportedly willing to table for Balde. Barcelona could consider a big sale of their left-back, especially now that he has lost his starting spot to January arrival João Cancelo.

Manchester City and Manchester United are in the mix for Balde should Barcelona make him available. Equally, Aston Villa have a good chance to land him with Champions League football and an important place in the squad; however, they could face serious competition from those Manchester giants.

Will Alejandro Balde leave Barcelona?

Balde is currently focused on finishing the season with Barcelona and making it into the Spanish squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The summer may bring about a period when the defender might have to decide on his future, should his position in the squad change, especially if the club end up signing Cancelo permanently and Hansi Flick continues to prefer the Portuguese defender.

Aston Villa could be a good opportunity for Balde, although many will feel he is destined for a much bigger club, such as Manchester City or Manchester United. Barcelona might look at their financial picture before deciding on a sale, but the €60 million price point reported could be difficult to turn down.
