Bruno Fernandes has been heavily linked with a move away from Manchester United in recent months despite his impressive form.
Bruno Fernandes has been exceptional for Manchester United this season, and he has been linked with Saudi Pro League clubs. However, his teammate and Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has now claimed that the player wants to win the Premier League and UEFA Champions League with Manchester United, suggesting a long-term stay at Old Trafford.
There have been constant speculations surrounding the future of the Portuguese international, who cost €55 million when he joined Manchester United, because of his frustrated demeanour during matches in recent months.
However, the Manchester United goalkeeper has revealed that Fernandes is very demanding of himself and the players, which leads to frustration at times.
Senne Lammens on Bruno Fernandes
Senne Lammens told The Sun, “He’s not always the most vocal. He’s heard when he needs to be, especially before big games. Or when we have maybe more difficulties, he’s also someone who’s very, very hard on himself and on everybody else. That’s why maybe sometimes he can look a little bit frustrated when it’s not going our way.
“But that’s also the way it has to be at this level, I think, because he wants to win Champions Leagues and he wants to win the Premier League, so that’s what he’s thinking about and that’s what he tries to give us as well.
“He tries to take us to his level as well, so it’s a leader on and off the pitch. He’s very demanding, of course. But he also knows that in the Premier League, in the way we are, you can win and lose some games. The most important thing is always how you react to it.”
Bruno Fernandes is not only Manchester United’s best player but also the best in the Premier League at his position. The skipper has registered eight goals and 18 assists in the Premier League this season. The Red Devils simply cannot afford to lose someone of his quality and experience.
Michael Carrick’s men have done quite well in recent months, and they are pushing for a place in the top three. United are likely to return to the UEFA Champions League, and they will need players like Fernandes to do well in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League next season.
