Manchester United prioritising Nathaniel Brown move

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing 22-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown this summer.

Nathaniel Brown has established himself as a key player for Eintracht Frankfurt, and he has the quality to succeed in English football as well. Manchester United have prioritised a summer move for him, and they will face competition from Arsenal and Liverpool.

Nathaniel Brown to replace Luke Shaw?

It is no secret that Manchester United need an upgrade on Luke Shaw, and Brown could be an excellent addition. The Eintracht Frankfurt full-back is a young player with a lot of potential, and he could establish himself as a key player for the club.

According to a report from German outlet Fussball Daten, the 22-year-old defender could cost around €50-55 million. The English clubs have been scouting him extensively, and it remains to be seen whether they follow up on their interest with an official proposal.  Brown is likely to be attracted to the idea of moving to the Premier League as well.

Manchester United are among the best clubs in the world, and they could nurture him into a future star. The asking price could certainly be an issue, especially since Manchester United need to improve other areas of the squad as well, particularly the midfield.

Meanwhile, Arsenal already have players like Riccardo Calafiori, Piero Hincapie (who is set to be signed permanently) and Myles Lewis-Skelly at their disposal. It will be hugely surprising if they decide to move for the German defender as well. They need to improve other areas of their squad instead.

Liverpool could use Brown

As far as Liverpool is concerned, Andrew Robertson could move on in search of regular football in the summer, and they need to replace the Scottish international. The veteran left-back has been an exceptional servant for the club over the years, and his departure would be a blow.

Apart from being a quality player, Robertson is one of the leaders of the dressing room. Brown could be the ideal replacement for the Scotsman, and he could compete with Milos Kerkez for the starting spot.

Meanwhile, the 22-year-old German international is more than just a quality defender. He has 10 goal contributions in all competitions this season, and he could improve Liverpool at both ends of the pitch.
