Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig in the summer transfer window.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal have already submitted a substantial offer to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. However, the Gunners will face competition from Chelsea for the Slovenian international.
Sesko is regarded as one of the finest young strikers in European football right now, and he scored 18 goals in all competitions last season. Chelsea are keen on signing him as well, and it will be interesting to see if Arsenal can win the race.
Arsenal will have to bring in a quality striker this summer, with Sesko emerging as a target. Gabriel Jesus failed to score goals consistently, and he found the back of the net just four times in the league last season. Sesko could prove to be an upgrade on him, and the young striker will be tempted to play for a club like Arsenal as well.
The Gunners will be able to offer him Champions League football and the platform to compete for major trophies. Arsenal have finished as the runners up in the league title race for the last two seasons, and they will be hoping to go all the way this time around. Signing the right players could help them overtake Manchester City.
Chelsea need to sign a quality striker
Chelsea need to bring in a quality striker as well. Nicolas Jackson failed to live up to the expectations last season after arriving from Villarreal. They will have to bring in an upgrade on the Senegalese international, and Sesko would be a superb addition.
Both London clubs have the financial muscle to get the deal done, and it remains to be seen where the player ends up. Arsenal will probably be a more attractive destination because of Champions League football. In addition, the Gunners have a better squad compared to Chelsea, and they are capable of pushing for major trophies right now.
Chelsea are going through rebuilding phase, and they might not be able to compete for major trophies just yet. Both clubs would represent an excellent opportunity for the young striker, and he will be excited to move to the Premier League if the opportunity represent itself.
