Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing 22-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers wing-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

A report from talkSPORT has claimed that Newcastle United are interested in Rayan Ait-Nouri. But the Tyneside outfit will face competition from fellow Premier League clubs Chelsea and Manchester United for the 22-year-old left-back.

The Algerian defender has been outstanding for Wolves this season, and his performances have caught the attention of the top clubs. Newcastle United need to bring in an upgrade on their current left-back options, and the 22-year-old should prove to be a superb addition.

The Magpies have had a disappointing season, and they will look to bounce back strongly next year. They will have to plug the gaps in their squad, and improving the defence and the midfield should be their top priority.

Newcastle United will need to sign a quality left-back and a central defender in the summer. Rayan Ait-Nouri would be a quality addition for them, and it remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with Wolves. The Black Country outfit will not want to let a key player leave for cheap, and they could demand a premium for the player.

Chelsea, Manchester United need Ait-Nouri

Chelsea need to sign a quality left-back as well. Marc Cucurella has been quite underwhelming since joining the club in a big money deal from Brighton and Hove Albion. Ian Maatsen is currently on loan, and he is expected to be sold permanently. They need someone who can compete with Ben Chilwell for the starting spot, and the Algerian seems like the perfect fit.

He is well-settled in the Premier League and could make an immediate impact if he moves to Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Manchester United need more cover in the left-back area as well. They have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia at their disposal. Shaw is a quality player, but he has had his fair share of injury problems, and Malacia has not featured at all this season.

Signing a left-back would be a wise decision for all three clubs, and it will be interesting to see where the 22-year-old ends up. He will want to play for a bigger club, and the opportunity to join Chelsea or Manchester United could be an attractive proposition for him.

Newcastle United have an ambitious project as well, and they are a wealthy club right now. The opportunity to play for them could be tempting for the player as well. The Wolves defender is likely to cost a premium this summer.

But he is quite young and he is likely to improve further. He has all the attributes to establish himself as one of the best left-backs in the league and could end up justifying the investment in the coming seasons.
