Manchester United have reportedly identified Gleison Bremer as a priority summer target but will face competition from Chelsea, Tottenham, and Real Madrid.

According to a report by i News, Gleison Bremer is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Red Devils have identified the Juventus defender as their priority defensive target for the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, and Real Madrid are also interested in the Brazilian international, valued at €50 million.

The Rise and Rise of Gleison Bremer

Gleison Bremer has been among the best defenders in Serie A for nearly half a decade. The 26-year-old hit the ground running after joining Torino from Atletico Mineiro in July 2018. Since then, he has come leaps and bounds, with the move to Juventus in July 2022 helping him take his game to the next level.

The Brazilian international is now a mainstay at the back for his club and country. He is enjoying an excellent 2023/24 season, shining even when the rest of the Juventus team has been sub-par. Bremer has turned out 28 times thus far this term, chipping in with two goals. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid.

A Man in Demand

Manchester United’s interest in Bremer is understandable. With Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Jonny Evans facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford, the Red Devils need a top-class defender to be Lisandro Martinez’s long-term partner. So, the Juventus defender is a viable target, with Manchester United viewing him as their summer priority.

As for Chelsea, they will likely part ways with Thiago Silva this summer when the veteran Brazilian becomes a free agent. And his compatriot is a superb candidate to replace him. But Tottenham’s interest in Gleison Bremer is surprising, considering they have signed two centre-backs in the last 12 months.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will delve into the market for a centre-back this summer, with David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Nacho on the wrong side of 30. In addition, Nacho has entered the final six months of his contract. So, Bremer is a viable target for Real Madrid. Meanwhile, Juventus will demand around €50 million to part ways with the Brazilian international.

That amount should not be an issue for any of his suitors, with Manchester United reportedly ready to pay over €50 million to secure his services. But with Chelsea, Tottenham and Real Madrid also interested, a fierce battle for Bremer’s services is on the cards.
