Manchester United are ready to break the bank and fork out over €50 million to land Juventus star defender Gleison Bremer at Old Trafford.

According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United want to bolster their defence on a priority basis before heading into next season. The Red Devils want to bring in a world-class centre-back who can help them continue shaping the new project under Erik ten Hag, and their priority for the role is Juventus’s Gleison Bremer.

Bremer’s impressive rise and Manchester United’s interest

Bremer has gone from strength to strength since joining Juventus from Torino. He has established himself as a mainstay in Massimiliano Allegri’s team, and his impressive performances have resulted in interest from across Europe.

The Brazilian centre-back still has over four years left on his deal with Juventus. While he has been an integral part of their first team since arriving, the 26-year-old could still be on the move in the summer, with Manchester United keen on having him in their ranks.

The Red Devils have had quite a few problems at the back since the start of the 2023/24 season. Their key defenders have picked up quite a few injuries, and it has affected their performances in a big way.

Manchester United making moves to sign Bremer

To avoid such situations in the future, Erik ten Hag is keen on adding a new world-class centre-back to thes mix. They admire Juventus’s Bremer and have been scouting him for a while now. People from the club have been in contact with the player’s representatives as they look to add him to their ranks ahead of next season.

The English giants are quite serious about their pursuit of the 26-year-old. They are willing to fork out in excess of €50 million in order to bring him to Old Trafford. Manchester United want to get this deal over the line as quickly as possible and are doing everything in their power to make it happen.

Unfortunately, they are not the only English club interested and more competition for his signatures could increase his market price. It will make things difficult for ten Hag’s team and eventually, they might have to make an even bigger offer to sign Bremer from the Italian club.
