Tottenham Hotspur have agreed on a deal with Djurgarden for the Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall.
A report from the Athletic claims that Tottenham will pay a fee of around €10 million plus bonuses for the highly talented midfielder. They have reportedly beaten Spanish giants Barcelona in the race to sign the player.
The 17-year-old midfielder will arrive for his medical with the Premier League club tomorrow and he will sign a five-year contract with them. Tottenham have decided to let the player stay at Djurgarden until the end of the season on loan and then join up with his new club next season.
The 17-year-old is highly rated across Europe and Barcelona were very keen on signing him. Securing his services represents a major coup for Tottenham and they will be delighted to have secured an agreement with the player.
Apparently, a deal with Barcelona was close to being completed but Tottenham managed to convince the player to join them instead.
A move to the Premier League club will be an exciting opportunity for the talented young midfielder and he will look to continue his development with regular football in the coming seasons.
He is expected to be a part of the first team next season and it will be interesting to see if Ange Postecoglou is prepared to give him ample gametime.
