Manchester United star Anthony Martial has struggled to make a mark at Old Trafford and could be in his final few days as a Red Devils ace. According to GiveMeSport, the Frenchman is attracting interest from other Premier League clubs including West Ham United and Crystal Palace.

Martial created a buzz when he moved to Old Trafford in 2015 for £50million. A sensational goal on his debut against Liverpool did little to temper expectations and it appeared as if the sky was the limit for the Les Bleus prodigy.

However, injuries and inconsistency reigned supreme as Martial struggled to do justice to his talents at the Theatre of Dreams. His return of 90 goals and 55 assists in 317 appearances for the club is not poor by any stretch but the inability to perform on a consistent basis has always proven to be a hindrance.

With just two goals and assists in 19 appearances across all fronts this season, he has aided Erik ten Hag little in the effort to support a faltering frontline. At 28, he should be in his prime but firing blanks is unlikely to impress anyone at Old Trafford.

Martials’ contract expires in the summer of 2024 and Manchester United have all but abandoned hope of cashing in on him. It is a rather magnanimous fall from grace for a player who once had a Ballon d’Or clause in his deal.

The ongoing January transfer window thus offers an opportunity for him and the Red Devils to part ways. There is interest in the Premier League with Palace and West Ham among others keeping tabs.

The Hammers can do with another option upfront and failed to replace a faltering Gianluca Scamacca in the summer. Michail Antonio cannot play forever and it is imperative that they don’t put all the eggs in one basket concerning Jarrod Bowen. Martial might not be setting off hearts with his performances of late but if David Moyes can coax it out of him, he could land himself a gem of a player.

The same goes for Palace who lack an infallible goalscorer. A move to Selhurst Park is a step down from the glamour of Old Trafford but given the way the player’s career has gone,. it is an apt sentiment. With United unwilling to offer fresh terms, it would appear that Martial’s options are limited. With United keeping track of Michael Olise, offering Martial as a sweetener could be a strategy worth

There is interest in the players from Saudi Arabia, France and Saudi Arabia but Martial does not appear to be keen. A loan to West Ham or Palace could happen this month but there is still much work to be done.

Seeking regular playing time is in Martial’s interests. With the Euros coming up, it remains to be seen if there is an outside chance of him making her France squad. But then, Didier Deschamps is unlikely to consider players who warm the bench.
