Premier League heavyweights Chelsea are reportedly prepared to offer Robert Sanchez in the deal to sign Andriy Lunin from Real Madrid.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Don Diario, Andriy Lunin is the subject of interest from Chelsea. The Blues want to sign the 24-year-old Real Madrid goalkeeper in a part-exchange deal. They are ready to offer summer signing Robert Sanchez in the arrangement to land the disgruntled shot-stopper.

The Andriy Lunin Story: A Tale of Frustration

Andriy Lunin has had to bide his time since joining Real Madrid from Zorya Luhansk in July 2018. The Ukrainian international has only found game time coming his way when Thibaut Courtois has been unavailable. But that has eluded him in the ongoing campaign in some junctures.

With Kepa Arrizabalaga arriving on loan from Chelsea ahead of the 2023/24 season, Lunin has had to share game time. But the 24-year-old has made his mark in his nine appearances thus far this term, keeping four clean sheets while conceding six goals. But Lunin is frustrated with his situation at the Santiago Bernabeu and faces an uncertain future at Real Madrid.

Recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid might offer a new contract to Lunin, with his current deal expiring in 18 months. But the Ukrainian international might find an escape route at Chelsea, who will look to secure his services next year.

Chelsea Interested in Andriy Lunin

Chelsea bolstered the goalkeeping department by signing Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic in the summer transfer window. But while Petrovic is a backup option, Sanchez has failed to produce impressive displays. So, it will not be surprising to see Chelsea entering the market for a shot-stopper in the 2024 summer transfer window.

Andriy Lunin has emerged as a viable target for the West London club. And they are ready to offer Sanchez in the part-exchange deal to sign the 24-year-old shot-stopper. Interestingly, reports in October had claimed that Real Madrid considered proposing an arrangement that would see them permanently land Kepa and send Lunin to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Chelsea might not be the only Premier League club pursuing Lunin’s signature next year. Recent reports have also linked the 24-year-old Real Madrid star with Newcastle United. So, it will be interesting to see if a part-exchange deal sees the light of day.
