Real Madrid are keen on acquiring the services of Kepa Arrizabalaga on a permanent basis, and they are ready to offer Andriy Lunin in a part exchange deal.

According to a report by The Sun, Real Madrid are keen on having Kepa Arrizabalaga in their ranks beyond this season. They are quite impressed with what they have seen from Spanish shot-stopper over the three months and want to make this move permanent. While they have put up a limit of £17.5 million, Los Blancos are ready to offer Andriy Lunin in a part-exchange deal.

Thibaut Courtois has been the undisputed number one at Real Madrid over the past few years, and he was expected to continue in goal for the 2023/24 season. But, he suffered a long-term injury heading into the new campaign.

Courtois’s injury forced Real Madrid to enter into the market for a new shot-stopper. While there were quite a few goalkeepers on their radar, they decided to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga on a season-long loan.

The Blues were not really happy with the 29-year-old’s performances and were already looking for a replacement. As a result, they loaned him out and bought Robert Sanchez to fill the void. Sanchez has been doing a great job in the Blues goal apart from a few recent showings.

While Chelsea do want to sign another shot-stopper, Kepa is unlikely to regain the number one spot at the West London club. And, with his contract running out in the summer of 2025, the Blues would love to cash in on him. The player himself wants to complete a permanent move to Real Madrid.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are ready to buy the 29-year-old on a permanent basis. Since arriving at the club, Arrizabalaga has featured in 12 games and has kept a clean sheet on five occasions. Los Blancos have only lost once since the 29-year-old has taken charge in goal.

People at the club along with their manager Carlo Ancelotti are quite happy with the Chelsea shot-stopper. And, they would love to have him in their ranks beyond this season. And, the goalkeeper is also keen on continuing at the club. He is ready to take a cut on his £176,000-a-week wages.

While Real Madrid want to sign him on a permanent basis, they are not looking to pay more than £17.5 million for the 29-year-old. That is a fee that could cause problems since Chelsea had forked out a world-record fee of £71.6 million to sign him five years back. But, in order to smoothen things up, Real Madrid are ready to offer Andriy Lunin as a part of the deal.
