Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Real Madrid earlier this summer and is ready to complete a permanent move in 2024.

Kepa Arrizabalaga moved to Real Madrid on loan following an injury to Thibaut Courtois. A report from Defensa Central claims that the Chelsea loanee is now willing to join Real Madrid permanently.

Apparently, the Spanish goalkeeper is ready to lower his wages in order to join Real Madrid permanently in 2024. He is ready to take a 50% pay cut in order to get the deal done. It will be interesting to see if he can impress Real Madrid with his performances this season and convince them to sign him permanently.

The opportunity to permanently join a club like Real Madrid will be a tempting proposition for any player. So, it is no surprise that Kepa wants to join them on a permanent basis. Chelsea signed Robert Sanchez from Brighton & Hove Albion this past summer, and Kepa will struggle for regular game time at Stamford Bridge if he returns to the club next season.

Apparently, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino was ready to keep him at the club and give him playing time this season. But he decided to move on in search of a fresh challenge. He was linked with a move to Bayern Munich as well. However, the Spaniard decided to snub a move to Germany in favour of Real Madrid.

It is evident that the 28-year-old has an admiration for the Spanish club, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops. He was rated highly during his time at Athletic Club, but the move to the Premier League did not work out for him as well as he would have liked.

The Spaniard was signed for a premium and was criticised for his error performances. There is no doubt that he can be a quality goalkeeper for Real Madrid in the coming seasons. But he will struggle for regular game time once Courtois returns to action.

It remains to be seen whether he is ready to complete a permanent move to Real Madrid without assurances of regular game time next summer. Chelsea will probably look to recoup a substantial amount of money from his sale. But Real Madrid might not be willing to break the bank for Kepa.
