Tottenham keeping tabs on Perr Schuurs

Ange Postecoglou is on the radar at Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in acquiring the services of 23-year-old Torino centre-back Perr Schuurs as they look for defensive depth.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to reinforce their defence in the winter transfer window and they have their eyes set on Perr Schuurs. While Spurs have been linked with quite a few defenders in the Premier League, they are also looking for potential targets from all across Europe.

Schuurs joined Torino in the summer of 2022 after having a decent spell at Ajax. In his very first season at the Italian club, he featured in a total of 36 matches and even contributed towards three goals. The 23-year-old was on the pitch for close to 2700 minutes.

He had an impressive debut season and there was a lot of interest in him during the summer. But, Torino somehow managed to keep hold of the Dutch international who has a contract at the club until the summer of 2026.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are one of the clubs that have been linked with the 23-year-old for a while now. And, they still remain interested in his services. Spurs have been keeping tabs on the player and they would love to have him in their ranks.

The London club are in desperate need of defensive depth. Their new manager Ange Postecoglou has got off to a flying start. But, they lack depth and the Australian is keen on signing a new defender in the winter.

The lack of defensive depth has been highlighted after their defeat to Chelsea. Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie are suspended for their next fixture while Micky van de Ven has picked up a serious injury.

As a result, the London club want to land a new defender in the winter and Schuurs has been one of their targets. But, Spurs might have to wait another six months as the 23-year-old recently picked up a cruciate knee ligament injury.

He is all set to be out for a while and the Australian manager is looking for an immediate replacement. As a result, he might drop the idea of signing the Dutch international.
