Tottenham Hotspur are considering making a move for 24-year-old Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah in the winter.

According to a report by GIVEMESPORT, Tottenham Hotspur are looking to bolster their defence in the winter transfer window and have their eyes set on Trevoh Chalobah. The 24-year-old centre-back has gone down the pecking order at Chelsea, and signing him won’t be that difficult a task.

Chalobah has been at Chelsea since his childhood days. He has come up the ranks at the West London club and made it to their first team in the summer of 2021. In the initial years, he was an important part of their senior side. But of late, he has fallen down the pecking order.

The Blues have made a lot of defensive signings in the summer and their new manager Mauricio Pochettino does not really trust the 24-year-old. While his contract with the London club runs until the summer of 2028, the former England youth international is expected to part ways with the club in the near future.

Tottenham are one of the clubs interested in his services. Spurs have started the new season in some fashion. Their new manager Ange Postecoglou has had the best possible start to life in London. No manager has had such an incredible start in the English top flight, his team have accumulated 23 points in their nine outings, and they sit at the top of the table.

Their incredible form has resulted in fans dreaming about silverware, and the club want to ensure they have enough in their tank to avoid any collapse. Spurs are looking to add depth to their ranks in the winter window, and defence is one of the areas that they want to bolster.

The partnership of Cristian Romero and summer signing Micky van de Ven is doing wonders for Tottenham. But they still feel that they lack depth and adding a new centre-back is a must. As a result, they have prepared a list of targets, and Chalobah is a part of it. The report also points to Ko Itakura and Lloyd Kelly being on their radar.

Chelsea won’t have any problems parting ways with the 24-year-old in January, and he seems to be an intriguing option as he can even feature in the centre of the park when needed. Chalobah has enough experience of playing in the English top flight and he will surely help their cause.
