Barcelona will look to sign Bernardo Silva permanently this summer, with the 28-year-old keen on joining the Catalan club.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Bernardo Silva remains the subject of interest from Barcelona. And the 28-year-old is keen on joining the Catalan club in the summer transfer window. But securing his services from Premier League club Manchester City might be a tall order for the Blaugrana.

Bernardo Silva has been a vital cog in Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City juggernaut since arriving from AS Monaco in July 2017. The Portuguese international has been a regular for his club and country in the last half a dozen years. But his stature at the club level has escalated considerably in the last few seasons.

The 28-year-old has turned out over 300 times for Manchester City, chipping in with 55 goals and 59 assists. But Silva, who has won the Premier League multiple times, is keen on embarking on a new adventure. And Barcelona might look to offer him that in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Silva has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time. And the Blaugrana even attempted to secure his services in the last two summer transfer windows. But budgetary issues compelled Barcelona to rule out a move for the former AS Monaco playmaker. And they now dream of signing him this summer.

But recent reports have claimed that Barcelona might rule out a summer move for Silva due to his high price tag. However, the 28-year-old Premier League winner remains a top target for the Blaugrana. And the report claims the player is keen on joining Barcelona in the ongoing transfer window.

Mundo Deportivo has also added that the reigning La Liga champions want to seal the deal to sign the Portuguese international this summer. But with Manchester City still demanding a premium to part ways with him, securing Silva’s services might be a tall order for Barcelona.

Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see if Barcelona can conjure up the funds to secure Silva’s services this summer. For now, the 28-year-old Premier League winner remains a top target for Barcelona and is keen on joining them.
