Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are reportedly set to meet with the entourage of Victor Osimhen.

According to Sacha Taviolieri on Twitter, Premier League giants Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United are all set to meet up with the representatives of Napoli star Victor Osimhen ahead of a potential summer move.

The 24-year-old is coming off the back of a spectacular season that saw Napoli win their first Scudetto since the Diego Maradona era. Osminhen ended the campaign as the Serie A top scorer and was also awarded the title for the best forward in the league.

The Nigerian ace’s stock has never been higher, and he continues to draw interest from some of the world’s biggest clubs. Osimhen appears partial to a move to the Premier League, meaning the trio of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United hold a small advantage in the matter.

Of the three, it can be argued that Liverpool are the least likely to go big given their stacked frontline. Despite their new Sporting Director Jorg Schmadtke having worked with the player while at Wolfsburg, the Reds will not pay over the odds nor can they offer UEFA Champions League football.

More so, they also have a potentially excellent attacker in Darwin Nunez, who is yet to explode onto the biggest stage. Going big on another striker when other areas need reinforcement makes little sense for Jurgen Klopp and co.

The same cannot be said of Chelsea, given their seemingly endless pockets. The Blues are likely to get rid of Romelu Lukaku and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, meaning there is a slot available for an elite attacker on their roster. Christopher Nkunku alone cannot solve their goalscoring problem and a player of Osimhen’s caliber will certainly make a difference in the final third.

Of the three clubs, Manchester United alone can offer Champions League football and are also in need of an elite number nine. They have been linked with Osimhen for some time now and it is easy to see that he would be a good fit up front at Old Trafford.

All three clubs have meetings scheduled with the player next week and it remains to be seen what they pitch to his entourage. Either way, Napoli are unlikely to sell cheap and are already in talks with the player to extend his contract which runs until 2025. It will take a monumental bid for any club to land Osimhen and given his current standing, Napoli can afford to play hardball. Which side blinks first remains to be seen.
