Manchester United prefer signing 24-year-old Napoli star striker Victor Osimhen over Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane.

According to a report by Fichajes, Manchester United are keen on having Victor Osimhen in their ranks. The 24-year-old Napoli striker has been on fire in the ongoing season and the Red Devils are keen on having him at their disposal ahead of next season.

Osimhen joined Napoli back in the summer of 2020 from LOSC Lille. The Italian giants paid around €85 million for the 24-year-old. The Nigerian international has gone from strength to strength since arriving in Italy.

He has taken his game to the next level in the 2022-23 season and has guided Napoli to their first-ever Serie A title in over three decades.

Osimhen has found the back of the net on 30 occasions in his 38 outings and also has five assists to his name. His record in front of the goal has attracted a lot of attention and there could be a bidding war for his services in the summer.

Despite having a contract at Napoli that runs until the summer of 2025, the 24-year-old could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window. But, the Italian club will only let him leave for a fee over €100 million.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are one of the clubs keen on having him at their disposal. The Red Devils are in search of a new forward to help them take the next step.

Erik ten Hag has done wonders since taking charge of the club. However, they still need to add a lot more quality in their ranks to compete with the likes of Manchester City for the Premier League title.

And, their manager believes adding a new striker is a must to push for the league title and be competitive in the Champions League. He wants to have support for Marcus Rashford and has shortlisted the likes of Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.

Meanwhile, recent updates suggest that Harry Kane is inclined towards a move to Real Madrid. Los Blancos are looking for a potential replacement for Karim Benzema and are ready to go all out for the Spurs striker.

As a result, United are ready to completely shift their focus on Osimhen. However, they are not the only ones keen on having him and might have to battle it out with a few clubs for his signatures.
