Carlo Ancelotti keen on bringing Kai Havertz to Real Madrid

Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly an admirer of Kai Havertz, but negotiations to sign the Chelsea attacker have stopped.

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Carlo Ancelotti appreciates the qualities of Kai Havertz. But Real Madrid will not meet Chelsea’s asking price of €60 million for the German international. So negotiations between the two clubs have stopped.

Kai Havertz has been one of several underwhelming signings for Chelsea in the last few years. The Blues have spent heavy sums on expensive flops like Christian Pulisic, Romelu Lukaku, and Marc Cucurella. And the 24-year-old fits into the same category, despite being Chelsea’s top scorer since his arrival.

The German international can say that he has suffered due to playing out of position. But a tally of nine goals and one assist in 47 appearances is dreadful. However, that has not done much to deter Havertz’s suitors, with several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid, interested in signing him this summer.

Real Madrid will head into the summer transfer window with the objective of heavily reinforcing the offensive unit. Los Blancos will see four attackers leave for free in the summer transfer window, namely Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard, and Mariano Diaz. So Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes are the only recognised forwards in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

The Merengues have thus set their sights on several attackers. Havertz has thus emerged as a top target for Real Madrid. And the Chelsea attacker is keen on joining Real Madrid and pushing to complete a summer move. But Chelsea’s asking price has left the deal handing, with the Blues demanding €60 million to part ways with him.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Carlo Ancelotti appreciates Havertz’s qualities. But Real Madrid will not pay €60 million to secure his services in the summer transfer window. So negotiations to conclude the deal for the German international have stopped.

Personal terms might not be an issue for the Chelsea attacker or Real Madrid. But unless the Blues reduce their asking price from €60 million, a summer deal will not materialise. It will be interesting to see if either club will compromise to see through the 24-year-old’s dream move.
