Kai Havertz is expected to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, with the German international reportedly pushing to join Real Madrid.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid are hoping to get the deal done for Kai Havertz in the coming days. And the German international will prefer a move to the Spanish club if he leaves Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea are also keen on selling the 23-year-old, whose market value is €60 million, this summer. But they are waiting for other clubs to enter the transfer race in order to drive the price up. Apparently, personal terms will not be an issue. But it remains to be seen whether they can convince Chelsea with a substantial offer now.

The German international helped Chelsea win the UEFA Champions League during his debut season. But things have not gone according to plan after that. He was expected to spearhead the club’s attack this term but failed to score goals consistently.

Chelsea need to invest in a reliable goalscorer, and they should look to sell Havertz and invest the proceeds into a quality number nine. Recent reports have claimed that they will demand around €60 million to part ways with him.

On the other hand, the German international is more suited to the role of an attacking midfielder. So it will be interesting to see how Real Madrid accommodate him in their starting lineup. The Spanish giants are parting ways with club legend and captain Karim Benzema.

So Real Madrid could look to use Havertz as the false nine. His ability to link up with the attackers could prove to be vital when it comes to replacing the French international striker. Alternatively, he can also be a replacement for Marco Asensio out wide.

Although Havertz is not a reliable goalscorer, he brings a lot more to the table. His playmaking abilities and tactical intelligence could come in handy when it comes to breaking down the opposition’s defences.

Furthermore, the 23-year-old is still quite young and is likely to develop with coaching and experience. If he can add more goals to his game, he could develop into a world-class player in the near future.

Working under an experienced manager like Carlo Ancelotti could help the Chelsea attacker improve further. The player is keen on the move this summer, and it is hardly a surprise that he wants to join Real Madrid. Los Blancos are the biggest club in the world, and the opportunity to play for them can be hard to turn down.

The Spanish giants have had a disappointing campaign by their standards, and they have failed to win the league title or the UEFA Champions League. They will be hoping to bounce back strongly next season. But they need to bring in the necessary signings in order to strengthen the squad.

Real Madrid need to improve their attack considerably after the departure of Karim Benzema. Apart from Havertz, they should look to bring in another creator and a quality winger. Marco Asensio, Mariano Diaz and Eden Hazard are also left the club as free agents.
