Ansu Fati has informed the required parties that he does not want to leave Barcelona amid interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Ansu Fati has no interest in leaving Barcelona in the summer transfer window. The 20-year-old has informed his agent that he does not want to depart the Catalan club. Meanwhile, the Barcelona attacker is a target for Manchester United, Tottenham, and several other clubs.

Ansu Fati has seen his stock plummet after initially positioning himself as the true heir to Lionel Messi’s throne. The Spanish international burst onto the scene as a teenage sensation, becoming Barcelona’s second-youngest debutant. But fitness issues have bothered him in the last few years.

The spate of injuries has stunted Fati’s progress, and he has regressed in his growth years. And while the 20-year-old turned out 51 times for Barcelona this past season, he did not even manage 2,000 minutes of game time. And the youngster faces an uncertain future, with Manchester United and Tottenham ready to prise him away from Barcelona.

Manchester United’s interest in the young attacker is surprising, considering Alejandro Garnacho’s emergence. And with Marcus Rashford preferring to play on the left flank, it is hard to see how Fati fits into the scheme of things. Nonetheless, Manchester United might launch the offensive to sign the Barcelona prospect.

On the other hand, Tottenham can do with a player of Fati’s potential, despite Son Heung-min’s presence on the left flank. While the Manchester United squad has young left-wingers, Son is on the wrong side of 30. So signing the 20-year-old will bode well for Tottenham, as the player can take over from the South Korean international in a few years.

Meanwhile, Barcelona might not block the Spanish international’s departure this summer. But Fati does not want to leave Barcelona in the summer transfer window. And he has already informed his agent that he does not wish to depart from Spotify Camp Nou in the coming weeks.

The issue for Barcelona is they need to balance the books heading into the summer transfer window before signing new players. So they have to sell a few high-value players to come into a position to bring new arrivals to the club. And it will be interesting to see if Manchester United and Tottenham can turn the 20-year-old’s head.
