Chelsea have initiated contact with Neymar over a possible move in the summer, with PSG open to the idea of selling the Brazilian.

According to Le10Sport, Chelsea are keen on signing Neymar in the summer, having initiated contact with the 18-goal South American star. There are complications with the 31-year-old’s massive salary and a possible fee that PSG would demand, who are open to letting him go.

Neymar could become a part of the mass exodus out of PSG this summer, with the club planning on significant changes to their approach. The 18-goal South American star has endured a mixed season, with injuries ending his campaign prematurely.

On the other hand, PSG took some big decisions and allowed several of their key players to depart. Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi have left the club, which has let them save some massive numbers on their wages. However, the Parisians are also planning on bringing in new players after the arrival of Manuel Ugarte and Marco Asensio.

They also have contract extensions for Marco Verratti and Marquinhos on their agenda, which may make them consider further culling their wage bill. One of the ideas is to sell Neymar for a reasonable fee, considering the 18-goal South American star still has a contract until 2027.

Only Premier League sides are interested in the Brazilian so far. Surprisingly, Saudi clubs have not attempted to lure Neymar to their league, which may also materialise in the coming period. As things stand, only English clubs are keen, with Chelsea the most willing to sign him in the summer.

Todd Boehly is reportedly obsessed with the idea of signing Neymar. Chelsea have not initiated contact with the Brazilian to understand the details before making an official approach. PSG would consider a reasonable fee in return, as they might want to reinvest on the offensive side in the window.

They are keen on several players, including Bernardo Silva. Man City could demand £75 million for the Portuguese international, which the Parisians might pay up. As for Neymar, there are other clubs, including Manchester United, but at present, Chelsea might make up the numbers to conclude the deal.

Man City had also enquired about Neymar. A move may still materialise if Pep Guardiola needs to sign a new attacker or replace departing ones. However, Chelsea may put up a reasonable offer for the 18-goal South American star ahead of their rivals.

As things stand, there’s nothing concrete in this chase. Neymar only recently extended his contract at the club, which may show an intention to stay put and make it worth it. Chelsea will still look to lure him away and make the Brazilian their marquee summer signing of the next window.
