Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is said to be an admirer of Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian superstar Neymar and is obsessed about bringing him to Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, who is a fan of flamboyant transfers even though sometimes they make little sense, wants to sign PSG star Neymar in the summer.

Unless you’ve been living under the sun for the last decade or so, Neymar is the most expensive footballer of all time after PSG signed the superstar from Barcelona in a stunning £200 million move way back in 2017.

Since then, the 31-year-old has scored 118 goals in 173 appearances for the French outfit, but there has been a lingering sense that he has failed to meet the huge expectations that many predicted as PSG have yet to lift the holy grail Champions League trophy.

The Brazil international has enjoyed a strong season for PSG, scoring 18 goals and providing 17 assists in just 29 appearances. However, he is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, with concerns being raised regarding his ability to stay fit for a full season.

Neymar’s future at the Parc des Princes has come under increasing scrutiny lately, with PSG fans protesting in front of his house, asking him to leave their club. The Premier League is considered to be the only feasible destination for Neymar if he leaves PSG due to the finances involved in a deal to sign him.

As such, the Ligue 1 champions are understood to be willing to sell the Brazilian superstar and will listen to sizable offers, something Todd Boehly’s Chelsea can provide.

The American billionaire has been frequently rumoured to be wanting to bring in a statement name to mark his first months at the helm of the Premier League side.

This has been evident by his reported desire to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo before this season started, which was a move only stopped by former head coach Thomas Tuchel’s desire to not have the Portuguese star’s super-ego part of the squad.

His attention has reportedly moved on to Neymar, and at least the expected new manager has some experience working with him. Mauricio Pochettino is largely anticipated to be named the next manager of Chelsea in the coming days, and he will recall Neymar well from his time in Paris. While the duo didn’t win the title every season, the Brazilian did enjoy some of the best individual football of his career during his tenure.

Neymar is certainly a player who can score plenty of goals, and that’s certainly what Chelsea needs at the moment. However, the Blues are seriously lacking a forward who can operate down the middle and be a consistent goalscorer.

There’s no question that the Brazilian is an elite-level player, but it could be a case of the player not being able to fluoridate in the system, particularly if he’s played out wide. What’s more, he will likely command a hefty transfer fee and seriously high wages. While it makes little sense, it would be fun to watch Neymar dazzle the Premier League in a Chelsea shirt.
