Barcelona will need to pay £75 million to sign 28-year-old Portuguese international Bernardo Silva from Manchester City this summer.

According to a report by 90min, Bernardo Silva will cost £75 million in the summer transfer window. Manchester City will sell the Portuguese international if a suitor meets the asking price. And Silva is a target for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Bernardo Silva has established himself as one of the best playmakers in the Premier League since joining Manchester City. The 28-year-old has been a trusted lieutenant for Pep Guardiola in the last half a dozen seasons. And he has also been a pivotal figure for his national side for several years.

The Portuguese international has made nearly 300 appearances for Manchester City, amassing 53 goals and 58 assists. But Silva is eager to embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window. Such a situation has captured the attention of several high-profile clubs, including Barcelona.

The Catalan giants hold a long-standing interest in Silva, having attempted to sign him several times previously. But the never-ending financial issues forced Barcelona to abandon the pursuit. And with the problems still not over, Barcelona might still not be able to afford the Manchester City playmaker.

Nonetheless, the Catalan giants dream about signing the 28-year-old Portuguese international. And the interest in the player is understandable, considering Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres face uncertain futures at Spotify Camp Nou. And while Silva has played as a creative midfielder for Manchester City, he can also reprise wide-attacking roles.

But it is unclear if Barcelona can afford the former AS Monaco playmaker. That is because Manchester City will demand around £75 million to part ways with Silva. And that amount might be beyond Barcelona’s means. But PSG should be able to match Manchester City’s asking price of £75 million.

The French champions are in a healthy financial position and have the means to pay £75 million to sign the player. But it is unclear if the 28-year-old Portuguese international will push to join PSG if Barcelona cannot afford him. For now, a summer departure seems unlikely unless Silva wants to return to France.
