Tottenham prepare David Raya offer

Tottenham are willing to triple David Raya’s wages as Brentford could sell the £40 million-rated Chelsea target.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham could triple David Raya’s wages if he joins the club in the summer. Brentford have all but resigned in their efforts to convince the £40 million-rated Chelsea target as Spurs look to complete a swift move.

Tottenham’s goalkeeping situation needs an inquest as fans demand certain high-level changes with the squad. The board are aware of those issues, as Daniel Levy wants to reflect on a disastrous season.

Major problems have occurred at the back, especially between the sticks. Club captain Hugo Lloris was involved in a series of high-profile errors and may depart the club in the close season. The French veteran will have a year left as Spurs will look to deal mutually with the stopper.

Spurs have looked at different options recently, including former Arsenal star Emi Martinez and Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili. However, stylistically they might feel inclined to bump David Raya on top of their shortlist.

Raya has had another terrific season with Brentford and has been a constant presence in Thomas Frank’s side. The Bees boss may have conceded defeat in the club’s effort to keep him, having seen at least three contract offers rejected by the 27-year-old.

Raya has ambitions to play in European competitions and with a big club capable of challenging for honours. The £40 million-rated Chelsea target was courted by the Blues, but he may choose to join Tottenham over them.

It’s a bitter blow for Chelsea considering they are keen to sign a solid presence in goal ahead of the summer window. They have chased Andre Onana with intent, but the chatter has cooled in the last weeks. The Cameroonian might still come into the mix, but Raya is also an option.

Tottenham are ready to triple Raya’s wages and reportedly offers him a deal worth £100,000 a week to join them. The Spaniard will cost £40 million despite having only a year left on his deal at Brentford. Spurs will show confidence in acquiring him and giving him the chance to make an impact among the big six clubs.
