David Raya has been linked with a summer move away from Brentford, with Chelsea and Tottenham keen on signing him.

David Raya is looking for a fresh new challenge this summer, and he has been linked with clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. A report from Daily Mail claims that the 27-year-old goalkeeper would prefer to join Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur will have to bring in a quality goalkeeper this summer as a replacement for club legend, Hugo Lloris. The 36-year-old Frenchman has not been at his best this season, and his error-prone performances have cost his side valuable points.

Tottenham will have to replace him as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and Raya would be a quality acquisition. The 27-year-old Spanish goalkeeper is well-settled in the Premier League and has proven his quality in the top flight during his time at Brentford.

The 27-year-old has certainly earned a step up in his career and the opportunity to play for clubs like Tottenham could prove to be an exciting option for him. Although the North London giants are set to miss out on Champions League qualification next season, Spurs are a big club with a talented squad at their disposal.

There is no reason why they cannot challenge for trophies with the right manager in charge next year. Raya will be tempted to join Tottenham if there is a concrete proposal on the table this summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are interested in signing the goalkeeper as well and it will be interesting to see if they can convince him to move to Stamford Bridge instead. Chelsea goalkeepers Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga have been linked with moves away from the club at the end of the season. Mendy in particular has lost his starting spot and he needs to leave in order to play regularly.

A move away from Stamford Bridge would be ideal for all parties and Raya could be the ideal replacement for the Senegal international. Both Chelsea and Tottenham are set to miss out on Champions League qualification. And it remains to be seen where the 27-year-old goalkeeper ends up eventually.
