Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, also a target for Liverpool.

Moises Caicedo was heavily linked with a move away from Brighton & Hove Albion in January. But the Premier League club managed to hold on to him. Ben Jacobs has now revealed to Caught Offside that Newcastle United could make a move for him at the end of the season. The player is also a target for Liverpool.

But the Reds would need the price to drop significantly in order to enter the chase. Liverpool are unlikely to be able to compete with Newcastle United financially, and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

With Caicedo, keep an eye on Newcastle as well. Liverpool would need the price to drop from January to seriously consider entering the race.”

Caicedo has established himself as one of the most talented young midfielders in the Premier League, and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Newcastle United and Liverpool.

The Ecuadorian midfielder will be hoping to test himself at a higher level and a move to Liverpool or Newcastle United could be ideal for him. Both clubs are currently pushing for Champions League qualification. And Newcastle are certainly better-placed to finish in the top four right now.

Caicedo was a target for Arsenal during the January transfer window, and it remains to be seen whether the Gunners decide to return for him at the end of the season. The player recently signed a long-term contract with Brighton. And the Premier League side are expected to demand a fee similar to that of Enzo Fernandez.

The Blues signed him for a fee of around £106 million in January, and it is highly unlikely that a club likely Liverpool will be able to afford that without a massive exodus.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are one of the richest clubs in the world. But it remains to be seen whether they are prepared to break the bank for him. Caicedo has all the tools to develop into a top classmate fielder in the future, and he could end up justifying a massive outlay in the long run.
