Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham is reportedly uninterested in a move to Chelsea amid interest from Liverpool.

Chelsea are keen on signing Jude Bellingham at the end of the season. But German journalist Christian Falk has told Caught Offside that the English international, a target for Liverpool, is not keen on moving to Stamford bridge.

Apparently, Bellingham considered a move to Chelsea before they signed Enzo Fernandez. But he felt that the Blues were lacking a clear and distinct plan. So he is not keen on their project amid keen interest from Chelsea.

Christian Falk has further claimed that Liverpool remain the front-runners to secure the 19-year-old’s services. And Bellingham could be keen to wait for them for another year if they failed to secure UEFA Champions League qualification this season.

“The Premier League remains the first target for Jude Bellingham. I’ve always said Liverpool would be his preferred target but, of course, everyone knows that they’re not doing too well at the moment. It’s also a hope for Dortmund still that, if Liverpool aren’t playing in Europe, there’s the possibility of extending Bellingham’s stay by a year.”

“Dortmund has a good chance of winning the Bundesliga, it’s very close. So there could be a chance that Bellingham waits for Liverpool. He seems very clear in his plans. I heard that, before Enzo Fernandez’s move to London, Bellingham was looking at what was going on at Chelsea. Chelsea were interested but Bellingham saw there wasn’t a clear plan at the club, so there wasn’t a massive amount of interest in going there.”

“Newcastle were interested, that’s for sure, but they’re not in the range of clubs Bellingham’s seriously considering joining in the summer, despite their good form this term. If he’s going to leave Dortmund, it will be for a top club, so he’s still keeping an eye on circumstances at Liverpool.”

The 19-year-old has been linked with clubs like Real Madrid as well. And it remains to be seen how the situation develops. It has been a difficult season for Liverpool so far, and a top four finish seems quite unlikely.

A player like Bellingham will not want to join a club without Champions League football. And it remains to be seen whether he is tempted to join Real Madrid at the end of the season. Meanwhile, Chelsea are in need of midfield reinforcements as well.

Jorginho has already been sold to Arsenal, and N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic could leave in the summer. Graham Potter needs to bring in a couple of quality midfielders, and Bellingham would have been a sensational acquisition.

The 19-year-old is widely regarded as a world-class talent, and he has already proven his quality in the Bundesliga and the recently-concluded World Cup. Dortmund are likely to demand a premium for his services, and his suitors will probably have to pay over the odds to secure his services.

Chelsea recently paid €120 million for Enzo Fernandez, and the England international is likely to be priced higher. The Blues have been linked with players like Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo as well. And they are likely to pursue other avenues if they feel that Bellingham is beyond them.
