Liverpool have been linked to the move for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.

According to a report from Mirror, Liverpool are now growing confident that they will be able to sign the talented England international at the end of the season.

The report claims that Liverpool are currently ahead of their Premier League rivals and Real Madrid in the race for Jude Bellingham and the player’s father favours a move to Anfield as well.

Borussia Dortmund are holding out for a fee of around £100 million and Liverpool are confident of securing his services.

The German club have apparently started looking for potential replacements as well.

The player will not leave the German club midway through the campaign and Liverpool will have to wait until the summer transfer window to complete the move.

Jurgen Klopp has been on the trail of the 19-year-old midfielder for a while, and the report from Mirror claims that he has asked Fenway Sports Group for the necessary financial backing to sign Bellingham. Despite the club owners putting Liverpool up for sale, they are prepared to deliver on their promise and sign Bellingham during the summer transfer window.

Furthermore, Mirrors claims that the England youngster’s relationship with Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will also play a big part in his arrival at Anfield next season.

Bellingham and Henderson have enjoyed a great relationship during international duty and they will be hoping to strike a partnership at Liverpool next season.

The Reds are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements with a number of their players expected to leave the club on a free transfer.

Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are nearing the end of their contracts at the Premier League club, and Liverpool have not agreed to extensions with them.

Klopp will need to bring in more than one central midfielder at the end of the season and Liverpool have been linked with the likes of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica and Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina as well.

The Reds will have to improve their midfield in order to challenge for the title once again, and it remains to be seen whether they can get the aforementioned deals over the line in the summer.
