Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven are reportedly interested in signing Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga this month.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Anthony Elanga is the subject of interest from PSV Eindhoven. The Dutch giants are keen on signing the 20-year-old Manchester United winger before the January transfer window shuts down.

Anthony Elanga started his youth career in his homeland before moving to England nearly eight years ago. The 20-year-old joined the Manchester United academy in July 2015 before making rapid progress in the club’s youth division. And he made his first-team debut as a 19-year-old in May 2021.

The Swedish international has since made gradual progress at Manchester United, with his stock falling this season. Erik ten Hag has not used Elanga regularly, with the youngster managing only 609 minutes of game time thus far this term. And the player faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, with his situation alerting PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch giants have seen Cody Gakpo depart from Philips Stadion in January. The young attacker joined Liverpool this month after Manchester United chased him for several weeks. And Gakpo has left a gaping hole in the PSV Eindhoven offensive unit. So it is hardly surprising that Ruud van Nistelrooy wants a new wide attacker.

The former Manchester United striker is keen on raiding his former club. And PSV will look to sign the 20-year-old attacker on loan for the remainder of the season. But while the Dutch giants have contacted Manchester United to ask about Elanga’s availability, Erik ten Hag does not want him to leave.

The Swedish international has also emerged as a target for Borussia Dortmund. And recent reports claimed that Elanga is keen on joining the Bundesliga giants. But Erik ten Hag is reluctant to sanction the youngster’s departure this month amid Manchester United’s struggles to bolster the attack.

So despite contacting Manchester United, PSV will unlikely land the 20-year-old attacker. But it will be interesting to see if Elanga pushes to leave Manchester United to resurrect his stuttering career. For now, a January departure seems unlikely for the youngster.
