La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly monitoring the performances of 22-year-old Ajax attacker Mohammed Kudus at the World Cup.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Mohammed Kudus has popped up on the radar of Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions are tracking the performances of the 22-year-old Ajax attacker at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Mohammed Kudus has seen his fortunes transform since failing to secure a move away from Ajax in the summer. The Ghanaian international was desperate to leave the Dutch giants to secure regular game time. But after multiple sales in the window, Ajax blocked a move for the youngster. And he has not looked back since then.

The 22-year-old has ten goals and two assists in 21 appearances across all competitions this term. And Kudus is currently making his mark at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, bringing Ghana one step closer to reaching the Round of 16 by scoring twice against South Korea. His performances have not gone unnoticed either, with Real Madrid keen on signing him.

Kudus has reportedly been on Real Madrid’s radar for two years, around the time he joined Ajax. Juni Calafat, who has been instrumental in bringing top-class players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes to Real Madrid, wanted Los Blancos to sign the 22-year-old Ajax attacker. But a move did not materialise back then.

But the 22-year-old’s performances have captured the attention of several clubs, including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur. And the Merengues have also set their sights on the Ajax ace. Real Madrid’s scouts are currently in Qatar to run the rule over the youngster at the World Cup. And his performances might have compelled Los Blancos to consider launching the offensive.

Kudus might be an option to play as a striker for Real Madrid amid Karim Benzema’s fitness woes. The reigning La Liga champions also have other versatile players on their radar, including Jamal Musiala. As for Kudus, the 22-year-old is a viable target.

It will be interesting to see if the Ajax attacker continues to make his mark at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. If so, it will not be surprising to see Real Madrid approach the Dutch giants for Kudus next year.
