La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly tracking the progress of 19-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy Jamal Musiala.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Jamal Musiala is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The reigning La Liga champions are monitoring the 19-year-old Bayern Munich prodigy closely at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Jamala Musiala is an English-origin midfielder born in Stuttgart. And the teenage prodigy started his youth career in Germany at TSV Lehnerz before moving to England. The German international went through the academies at Chelsea and Southampton before returning to Germany by joining Bayern Munich. And the move has done wonders for his career.

The 19-year-old made his first-team debut towards the end of the 2019/20 season and has come leaps and bounds since then. And in September 2020, he became Bayern’s youngest goalscorer, aged 17 years and 205 days. Meanwhile, Musiala is enjoying a solid 2022/23 campaign, amassing 12 goals and ten assists in 22 appearances across all competitions. And his progress has alerted Real Madrid.

Musiala is a versatile player who can reprise different roles in the midfield and offensive units. So he is an attractive target for Real Madrid as he can potentially succeed Luka Modric or Toni Kroos. Alternatively, the Bayern Munich prodigy can also slot in on the wings, making him an appealing attacking option.

So it is hardly surprising that the reigning La Liga champions have sent scouts to Qatar to run the rule over the 19-year-old. Musiala is currently enjoying a solid campaign at the 2022 FIFA World Cup despite Germany’s struggles. And noteworthy performances might compel Real Madrid to launch the offensive.

The Merengues are prioritising signing Jude Bellingham to bolster their midfield next summer. But Real Madrid will not pay over the top to land the English international. Musiala is thus an option worth considering for Real Madrid if they view him as a possible midfield reinforcement.

As for possibly signing the Bayern Munich prodigy to bolster their attack, Real Madrid could bring him in to replace Eden Hazard. But Bayern Munich will unlikely entertain any offers for the 19-year-old, considering his importance in Julian Nagelsmann’s squad. So Real Madrid might endure a fruitless chase.
