Sampdoria eye loan deal for Tottenham ace Bryan Gil

Transfer News: Tottenham make move to sign Ollie Tanner.

Sampdoria are reportedly considering a loan move for Tottenham Hotspur youngster Bryan Gil this summer.

According to Club Doria 46, Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has emerged as a loan target for Serie A outfit Sampdoria in the ongoing transfer window.

Bryan Gil joined Tottenham only last summer, arriving from Sevilla in a deal worth €25 million, with Erik Lamela also moving the other way. However, the 21-year-old winger had a difficult time settling in at his new club. After struggling for game-time at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he returned to Spain in January, joining Valencia on loan.

Gil played more regularly in his homeland and showed glimpses of his quality. And Los Che were keen on signing him permanently but were priced out of the move for the Spanish international. Back at Tottenham, the 21-year-old does not find a place for himself in the squad under Antonio Conte, and another temporary move could be on the cards.

Sampdoria have had their eyes on Gil for a long time now. They had approached Tottenham over a move for the young winger in June but were discouraged by the Lilywhites’ €3 million loan fee demands.

However, the Italian outfit are now planning to make another approach for the Spanish international as they look to add more firepower to their attacking arsenal. With the futures of Antonio Candreva and Mehdi Leres not certain, Sampdoria could use another wide attacker in their ranks and believe that Gil fits their requirements.

A young winger with immense potential and the ability to play on either flank, Gil can develop into a fine footballer under the proper guidance and with regular game-time. And a loan move would make sense for the 21-year-old as he has little to no chance of playing frequently under Conte at Tottenham Hotspur.

Gil is also attracting interest from Spanish clubs, with former loan outfit Cadiz keen on signing him while Real Sociedad are also looking at him as an option. So, it will be interesting to see where Bryan Gil will end up next season as another loan move beckons for the prodigious young attacker.
