Tottenham are reportedly interested in VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, but face competition from Brighton & Hove Albion and AS Roma.

According to German publication BILD, VfB Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic finds himself in transfer limbo as early suitors Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have decided to opt for other targets. Bayern Munich are set to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool, while Dortmund are going after AFC Ajax star Sebastien Haller, leaving Kalajdzic in search of new suitors.

And the 24-year-old striker is said to be attracting a lot of attention from the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur emerging as an interested party, along with Brighton & Hove Albion. Italian giants and inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League champions AS Roma are also keeping tabs on Kalajdzic.

The Austrian international has spent three seasons with Stuttgart after arriving from Admira Wacker in 2019. He enjoyed a fruitful first couple of seasons in Germany, but the last campaign was a frustrating one for Kalajdzic as he spent a large chunk of it out on the sidelines due to injuries. He ended the 2021/22 season with just 15 appearances, in which he managed to score six and assist two goals.

Kalajdzic had been on the radars of Tottenham Hotspur last summer when Harry Kane’s future was in question. However, the England captain stayed put, and the rumours of interest in the Stuttgart striker went quiet. However, as per the report, Kalajdzic continues to feature on Spurs’ wishlist this summer as they look for a potential backup option for Kane.

A move for Richarlison has been touted, but Everton could demand a significant sum for the Brazilian. Kalajdzic, on the other hand, would be available for an affordable price of €25 million as his contract with the German outfit expires in a little over a year. However, Tottenham are not alone in pursuit of the Austrian striker, with Brighton and AS Roma also keen.

Brighton have shown a lot of promise under Graham Potter, but the lack of a reliable goalscorer up top continues to hold them back. Neal Maupay and Danny Welbeck have not been consistent enough, leaving the Seagulls scouring the market for a new No. 9. While they have signed teenage prospect Julio Enciso, a more established option like Kalajdzic can be a sensible signing for Brighton.

The Seagulls are believed to be making concrete efforts for the Stuttgart striker. However, the player has reservations about a move to the Amex Stadium as he aims to join a bigger club. That is where Roma could enter the picture, as Jose Mourinho sees Kalajdzic as a good fit for the way he wants his team to play.

However, with the Giallorossi unlikely to sell Tammy Abraham this summer, the Austrian would not be a regular starter at Stadio Olimpico while he does not favour a move to Italy this summer, as per the report. So, it leaves Tottenham as the most favourable destination for Kalajdzic, although it remains to be seen if the Lilywhites are serious about their pursuit of the 24-year-old.
