Manchester United are ready to offload Eric Bailly for around €10-12 million, with Marseille and Lyon reportedly keen on the Ivorian.

Eric Bailly could depart Manchester United after an injury-ravaged time at the club, and according to French journalist Ignazio Genuardi, the club are seeking €10-12 million to let him leave. Marseille and Lyon are among clubs reportedly keen on the Ivorian centre-back.

Eric Bailly never lacked in talent, as the Ivorian has been a reliable presence in Manchester United’s defence whenever he has been fit. Remaining injury free has been a constant problem for the centre-back, which has seen him make fewer appearances than expected.

To get things into perspective, Bailly made 25 Premier League appearances in his first season at the club and never managed to match that tally again. In the last three campaigns, he has made only 20 combined appearances in the top flight, which has forced Manchester United’s hand.

Manchester United are ready to sell the defender who has two years left on his contract. Many clubs are interested in the Ivorian despite his terrible injury record and are willing to take their chances with his signing. The Premier League giants want around €10-12 million to let him leave.

Marseille are reportedly interested in Bailly and could consider making an offer. The French giants have lost hope of securing William Saliba on a permanent deal and could be looking at the Ivorian as a viable alternative. They face competition from Ligue 1 rivals Lyon.

Lyon are keen on strengthening their backline in the summer as they look to make amends after a terrible season. The French side could look to reduce the price tag Manchester United have placed on the defender due to their current financial situation and the player’s injury record.

There is additional interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United as well. However, the Magpies have other options as priorities, such as LOSC Lille’s Sven Botman. So, Newcastle could be discounted from the chase, with Ligue 1 emerging as Bailly’s next potential destination.

As things stand, the defender is very much likely to be on the move, and Manchester United are willing to take a massive hit on their investment in the Ivorian. €10-12 million could be reasonable in this market for a player of Bailly’s talent, but his injury record will make clubs think twice before recruiting.
