West Ham United set to open talks to sign Keane Lewis-Potter

West Ham United are set to initiate talks to land Hull City sensation Keane Lewis-Potter in the 2022 summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic, West Ham United are set to make their move to land Keane Lewis-Potter in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The youngster has been one of the few shining lights for Hull City this season as the Tigers look set to finish in the lower half of the EFL Championship table. With 11 goals in 44 games, the 21-year-old has been one of the best young players in the second division.

There is much scope for improvement, and Lewis-Potter can take his game to a higher level in the right setup. David Moyes has an excellent record of signing players from the Championship and developing them into stars.

The Scotsman enjoyed great success with the approach at Everton and has recently also repeated the trick at West Ham. The last time the Hammers signed a promising attacker from Hull was Jarrod Bowen. The winger has done extremely well under Moyes and has added much to his attacking repertoire since moving to the London Stadium.

West Ham United have a few exciting attackers in their squad, but Bowen stands apart on a level of his own. The Englishman’s performances have seen him get linked with a summer switch to Liverpool. Even though an exit is unlikely, West Ham will need to add more options to their attacking roster to address their overreliance on Bowen and Michail Antonio.

Lewis-Potter is not yet the finished article. However, given time, he could potentially develop into a vital player at the London Stadium. West Ham are set to reach out to Hull about the player’s availability and could land him for around £18 million. It represents a fair trade-off should the 21-year-old fulfil his potential.

Moyes has had West Ham punch above their weight the last two seasons and will be keen to build upon that in the coming years. To do so, the club will need to invest in their playing squad. Lewis-Potter has what it takes to succeed and will more likely than not showcase his worth in the years to come.
