Isco and Gareth Bale were on the scoresheet as Real Madrid celebrated Zinedine Zidane’s return to the club with a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo.

Real Madrid kickstarted a new era under returning manager Zinedine Zidane with a solid 2-0 win over Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon.

Zidane’s return to the club meant there were wholesale changes to the starting XI, with the likes of Keylor Navas, Marcelo, Isco all getting reinstated to the team. And Real Madrid started the game on a positive note, but couldn’t break the deadlock, with Gareth Bale coming the closest, having struck the woodwork.

Luka Modric then had a goal ruled out by VAR early in the second period. But, Isco put Real Madrid in front, prodding home from close range a little after the hour mark, before Bale made it 2-0 fifteen minutes later to ensure a victorious return for Zidane.

Real Madrid fans came out in full force on Twitter to celebrate the victory on Saturday, with many praising Zidane for bringing players that had lost their places under Santiago Solari i.e., Isco, Navas, Marcelo and Bale, back into the fold. Isco and Bale went on to score, while Navas ensured Real Madrid’s first clean sheet in nine matches and Marcelo too had a solid game.
