Manor Solomon is unsure about his stay at Fiorentina beyond the season following an effective loan spell in Serie A.
Manor Solomon has had a troubled season overall, following his loan switch to Villarreal, which did not go to plan. Having been sidelined at the Spanish side, the Israeli international joined Fiorentina on loan, with the Italian side needing key reinforcements in January in a bid to save their season from relegation.
Solomon has been an inspired signing, and while his numbers comprise only two goals in Serie A, the attacker’s overall impact via his performances has certainly made a huge difference. With Fiorentina out of the woods with regard to relegation, they are now interested in signing Solomon on a permanent deal.
Fiorentina are also eyeing a discount on the price agreed via a buy option in the loan deal, as much will depend on any possible talks with parent club Tottenham. The Israeli international does not have a future at the north London club, as his prospects there look increasingly distant.
Fiorentina also signed Jack Harrison from Leeds United on loan, but the attacker is not expected to stay beyond the current season. Now, there are doubts over Solomon staying at the club despite a willingness from the Florence side to make a deal happen.
His comments, which appeared via Alfredo Pedulla, stated he is unsure about a permanent move and what transpires in the future. While there is no ruling out a permanent switch as things stand, Solomon’s comments left things open.
Solomon said, “I don’t know yet if I’ll stay, but I’ve really enjoyed my time here in Florence. I’ve enjoyed both the environment and the people, and I want to give my all until the end of the season. At the end of the season, we’ll talk to the club and decide what to do.”
Solomon could yet attract interest from clubs eager to place their bets on the Israel international. There are multiple factors at play, including what Tottenham might demand for the player. The winger has a contract there until 2028, which means the north Londoners will demand a decent fee.
The big issue surrounding Solomon is rather political, which may have been a reason for his difficult spell at Villarreal. The ongoing conflict involving Israel has seen many of their national sports stars facing issues around the world, and Solomon is a prime example. Hence, that could have a significant effect on the fee, as Fiorentina are expected to open talks to sign him, but the winger remains unsure.
