Jesse Lingard has reportedly signed a new four-year deal with Manchester United, with an option to extend it for a fifth year.

Among the many talented youngsters touted to become future superstars to emerge from the United academy in recent times, Jesse Lingard was perhaps the most under-rated of all talents. However, the Englishman has managed to carve a place for himself in the first-team setup at Old Trafford, something others have not been able to do.

Manchester United have now confirmed that the player has now signed a new four-year deal at the club, a bumper deal worth around £100,000 per-week.

Manchester United fans welcomed the extension, with the fans recognising Lingard’s contribution to key moments, which adds credibility to the big-match player that he is.

But a majority of people on Twitter saw the touted six-figure wage as a ridiculous amount for a mere squad player.
