Eduardo Camavinga has claimed that he hopes to see compatriot and Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni join him at Real Madrid in the summer.

Speaking to L’Equipe, as relayed by the Daily Mail, Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has stated that he would love to see fellow Frenchman Aurelien Tchouameni move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The 22-year-old is a transfer target for Los Blancos and Premier League giants Liverpool.

Tchouameni is set to spark a major transfer battle this summer after a fine season with AS Monaco in Ligue 1. Real Madrid have been hot on his trail for quite some time now but face competition from Liverpool, while Paris Saint-Germain have also shown an interest in the French international.

Recent reports have indicated that Real Madrid may have stolen a march on their rivals in the race to land the former Bordeaux starlet. Indeed, it has been claimed that the Spanish and European champions are closing in on the capture of Tchouameni in a deal worth €100 million.

Should he arrive, Tchouameni would compete with Casemiro and Camavinga for a starting berth in Carlo Ancelotti’s side at the Santiago Bernabeu. Despite the threat of added competition, Camavinga, who enjoyed a successful debut season in Spain, has claimed that he would love for his compatriot to join him in Madrid.

“It would be fun, that’s for sure! He’s a player I’ve already met in the national team. I hope he comes to Madrid. I don’t know exactly how the situation is, but I’ve already talked to him. We’ll see what happens in the next few days,” Camavinga said in an interview.

Tchouameni made 50 appearances in the 2021/22 campaign for Monaco and chipped in with five goals and three assists. The 22-year-old has shown that he has all the characteristics to develop into a world-class midfielder in the near future.

And as things stand, it seems like the French international, who was part of the squad that won the UEFA Nations League last year, will be signing for Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window, which will come as a major blow for Liverpool and PSG.
