Arsenal 3-1 Valencia: Gunners take first leg advantage [Tweets]

Arsenal came from behind to completely outclass Valencia at the Emirates to take a 3-1 advantage into the second leg at the Mestalla.

Arsenal might already have one foot in the Europa League final in Baku after they beat Valencia at the Emirates with a comfortable 3-1 scoreline. The Gunners, as has been the case in the last three games, conceded first and there was a common fear in the stadium that this game too might turn against Arsenal.

Six minutes since the opening goal scored by Valencia, Arsenal responded through Alexandre Lacazette, who later went on to score another one as Arsenal took a 2-1 lead into half-time. In the period between the second strike and the third goal, Arsenal did miss several opportunities, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, in stoppage time ensured Arsenal carry a considerable lead to Spain.

The Gunners defended well, unlike in some of the recent games, but overall it was a good team performance and Unai Emery will be a happy man that his side have bounced back from their recent slump.

Like Emery, Twitter was a happy place, flushed with Arsenal fans and their reactions to this important win over Valencia. Twittersphere reacted in their own style as usual, and we have some of the tweets that are worthy of a mention following Arsenal’s victory.

In general, the mood was good against Arsenal despite conceding the opening goal in the game. More than anything, fans were relieved that Arsenal finally got back to winning ways.

There were some special mentions for Alexandre Lacazette and his heroics following two goals against Valencia.

And finally we finish off these rounds of tweets with Aubameyang, who in turn finished off the game with an excellent late goal.
