Paris Saint-Germain have stepped up their efforts to sign Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba on a free transfer next season.

According to Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain are prioritising a Bosman move for Paul Pogba next season. It appears the Manchester United superstar has been identified as the missing piece of the jigsaw for Mauricio Pochettion as he looks to build a super team that is capable of dominating Europe.

Currently, in his second spell at Manchester United, Pogba’s hot and cold stint at Old Trafford has already been well-documented. The midfielder has divided the club’s fanbase more than any other star in recent years.

However, his excellent performances with the French national team, coupled with his brilliant start to the new season, has led many to call in favour of Pogba’s contract extension at Old Trafford this season. His current deal at the club expires next summer, meaning the player will be able to discuss a pre-contract agreement in January.

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, the contract talks between the two parties have completely stalled. There were brief rumours suggesting that the player wanted to extend his deal, but nothing has materialised since.

PSG are prepared to take advantage of this impasse to try and lure Pogba back to his homeland. Les Parisienss haven’t had much success with the summer signing of Gini Wijnaldum, which has tempted the club to once again eye a move for a star midfielder.

With 219 competitive appearances for Manchester United and 89 caps for the French national team, Pogba fits the bill well due to his vast experience at the highest level of football. The Frenchman also brings the winning mentality, having notably won the FIFA World Cup in 2018 as well as four Italian titles with Juventus.

In addition to his skill on the pitch, the fact that the former United starlet could be available for a free transfer next summer makes him an even more appealing target for PSG. The French giants, after all, had secured free deals for Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gini Wijnaldum and Gianluigi Donnarumma last summer.

They will hope to do the same with Paul Pogba, although it appears Pochettino’s men could face stiff competition from FC Barcelona. Currently experiencing a financial crisis, the Catalans have identified Pogba as an ideal midfield reinforcement next season and are expected to begin talks with the player over a free transfer in the summer.

A potential extension at Old Trafford cannot be ruled out either, so it will be a rather tricky task for PSG, as they hope to sign the French international next summer.
