Angers midfielder Angelo Fulgini is attracting interest from Premier League sides Southampton and Brentford ahead of the January window.

According to Football Insider, Southampton and Brentford are among the clubs keeping tabs on Angers star Angelo Fulgini. A transfer battle could ensue for the midfielder in the January window, with the French side reportedly open to letting him leave.

Fulgini has been a consistent presence in the Angers midfield in the past four seasons. The 25-year-old Frenchman has been courting interest from across Europe due to his impressive performances. In the previous campaign, Fulgini managed to score 11 goals in all competitions, mostly from a right-midfield area.

The versatile star can play in different positions, while when needed, has also been deployed as a makeshift centre-forward. He can also play advanced roles in midfield while proving his stature as a somewhat regular scorer of goals.

His contract with the French side expires in 2023, and the club are ready to let him leave if a decent offer comes their way. They are reportedly willing to accept a transfer fee close to £12.6 million, as they see the midfielder as a saleable asset during the winter.

The report also posted quotes from the player’s agent, Paul Tait, who confirmed interest from European clubs, although Fulgini might be interested in moving to the Premier League. Tait said, “Lyon, Marseille and Nice are among several clubs interested in Fulgini, but the player would ideally like to come to play in the Premier League.”

There is reported interest from several Premier League sides Southampton and Brentford are thought to be the keenest, with Brighton also keeping tabs on his progress. These clubs have been looking for a midfielder to bolster their squad in the January transfer window, and Fulgini might be the player. Furthermore, his versatility could be very useful for any of these clubs.

When the January window approaches, interest in the French midfielder could intensify, possibly sparking a transfer battle between the Premier League clubs. Fulgini, 25, has plenty to offer and could prove to be a smart signing for whichever club he decides to join.
