Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a move for PSG star Grzegorz Krychowiak as a potential replacement for Emre Can, who has joined Juventus on a free transfer.

According to The Sun, Liverpool are looking to bring back Grzegorz Krychowiak to the Premier League. The holding midfielder spent the last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion. With the player still on the list of expendables at PSG, Liverpool are looking to sign the Polish star.

Grzegorz Krychowiak has always been an underrated profile in world football. The Polish midfielder produced two great seasons at Sevilla under Unai Emery, getting his hands on successive UEFA Europa League trophies. Emery was so impressed he made sure Krychowiak accompanied him to PSG.

While Krychowiak did win the French Cup and the French League Cup in the 2016-17 season, the inability to secure the Ligue 1 title saw the Polish midfielder being shipped out to West Brom on loan. In England, Krychowiak attempted to re-establish his credentials.

And while he did give a good account of his abilities, he could not prevent West Brom from being relegated to the Championship. Now back at PSG after the end of his season-long loan, Krychowiak is still on the chopping block, with new manager Thomas Tuchel seeking to add to the options in midfield. Liverpool present an interesting proposition.

The Reds have signed Fabinho and have welcomed Naby Keita into the fold as well. But, Liverpool are still seeking a true replacement for Emre Can, who has joined Juventus on a free transfer. While Fabinho can replace the German in the said position, Jurgen Klopp is looking to beef up the midfield in order to compete on all fronts.

Krychowiak now has one full season in the Premier League under his belt. Add to that the fact that the 28-year-old is approachable and Liverpool could land a brilliant bargain deal for the seasoned campaigner.

Despite a woeful World Cup campaign from Poland, Krychowiak was one of the bright sparks. Liverpool’s pursuit of the 28-year-old could see them add to the experience in their squad, that too for a fee that should be far from extravagant.
