The Gunners’ new signing talked about the nature of the two managers he has played for in his time in England, as he gets to know his new surroundings at Arsenal.

According to the Daily Mail, Henrikh Mkhitaryan thinks Jose Mourinho has a different style when it comes to managing his players as well his approach towards them. The Armenian captain who moved from Manchester United to Arsenal in the January window reveals a stark difference between the Portuguese and his current boss, Arsene Wenger.

Mkhitaryan feels Mourinho is a hard man to please, and that on the pitch as well in training, the Portuguese manager expects a lot from his players. On the contrary, he says, Arsene Wenger is more understanding towards his players, and the Frenchman has a ‘friendlier’ approach towards his players.

Mkhitaryan says,  Arsene Wenger on top of being ‘friendly’ also understands his players well, stating that the Frenchman’s evaluation of players’ situation is crucial within the team. He thinks Arsene Wenger is a calmer person than Mourinho, which makes a big difference.

Mkhitaryan’s time at Manchester United colours has been called unsuccessful in some corners, but the Armenian feels that’s not the case. He points towards the trophies he won during his time at Old Trafford, with the League Cup and Europa League among those honours.

He also adds his time at Manchester United was a success and states the fact that he scored and won in the Europa League Final. But overall concedes it was difficult at Old Trafford, but feels his spell there was a successful one.

Mkhitaryan signed for Arsenal in the January transfer window from Manchester United in a deal that saw Alexis Sanchez go the opposite direction. Since then he’s had a positive impact on the team, assisting three times on his full debut against Everton.
